Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault

The incident caused the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
