Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
