Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The jet landed based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
